I am trying to add a filter to VE manually.  I downloaded MSU Color Enhancement filter which is supposed to be compatible with VE.  I extracted the files to the VE plugins folder.  When I click on the VD Filter button in VE I get an error message:  can't LoadLibrary and the filter does not show up in the Choose Filter list.  Could you please give me step by step insructions on how to manually add a filter to VE?  Thanks for your help.

This filter may depend on a DLL file(s) (usually provided together with .vdf file).
Just place the DLL to Video Enhancer folder instead of plugins folder (keeping the .vdf in plugins folder).

There are no .dll files in the zip file I downloaded.  When extracted there is a license.txt file and the .vdf file.  I tried extracting the files with the VE Plugins folder as the target and I also tried just copying the extracted .vdf file to the Plugins folder.  Neither one worked.  I still get the can't LoadLibrary message.

I just tried to load this filter (MSUColorEnhancement 1.0b) and it works perfectly fine in VE 1.9.3.
Are you sure the message "Can't load library.." says about this filter? It may be talking about some other one which failed to load. Please quote full message here.

The message is:  can't LoadLibrary
c:\program files\video enhancer\plugins\MSUColorEnhancement.vdf

I am using VE trial version 1.9.2.0

Could you post step by step instructions on how you loaded this filter so I can try to duplicate the proceedure on my computer?   Maybe I am not doing it correctly.

I just copied the vdf file to plugins folder (same as in your case) and when I run VE and press "VD Filter" it's shown in the list.

The vdf file is 146944 bytes long and dated 15 Nov 2006 (just to be sure we're using the same one).

Did you try other filters?

I just tried the MSU Deflicker filter and it worked just fine, as did a couple of other filters I tried.  The problem must be with my system or the file I downloaded.  Thanks for your help.

i had the same problem try updating your Microsoft visual C++ or Microsoft .NET Framework, i remember that the MSU color enhancement needs one of these to work.
PS: if doesn't work look around for different Microsoft redistributions because i remember it was something from Microsoft.

None of the filters use .NET framework. But Visual C++ Runtime is a good idea: some filters may require it.
