I have a problem with GraphEditPlus I hope you can help me with.

I need to use a WDM Streaming Crossbar device.

The"WDM Streaming Crossbar devices" category can be found only under"ActiveMovieCategories" and is empty.

That is, I can't find the device I am looking for, since there is no "WDMStreaming Crossbar device" category in the root category directory.

In the plain GraphEdit I can find this category (WDM Streaming Crossbar device)and it includes all the devices in the system.

Whatam I missing?

In some of the previous versions of GraphEditPlus some of the filter categories had different names. For example, you could find "KS Crossbar" instead of "WDM Streaming Crossbar devices". It should contain the filter you needed. Since version 1.0.5 the naming is closer to MS GraphEdit.

ActiveMovieCategories is a meta-category: it contains descriptions of other categories, not the filters. That's why you can't add any filters from it.

I usually use a program called Montivision Workbench for filter graph building.  It's the exact same thing as grapheditplus except that it has all the filters listed out without categories and there is a text box at the bottom that runs a grep style text filter over all the filters in the system.  It takes like 2 seconds to find any filter that you are looking for.  They don't have as good of c++ code generation though.  Grapheditplus could benefit from a grep style text filter of some sort.

Also, grapheditplus can't find some filters for some reason.  They might be getting lost in the categories but I don't think so.  With that I have to use Montivision Workbench for lots of the work that I am doing.  The categories seem to make things more difficult.  I work for a Directshow heavy company and we work on this stuff all day long.  I showed my coworkers and they all individually said that they could not use grapheditplus for this reason alone.  They like other things about it though and the filter finding situation is not a big one to fix, so that's good I think.

Also, there are direct show filters missing from the "direct show filter" category.

Filter search is planned for the next update, thanks for the tip on how it may look like!
Some of the categories are not shown now, it will be fixed too.

My suggestion would be an index grep style text entry box at the bottom of the filter list.  I can type DV and it gives me all the dv filters.  I can type micro and it gives me all my misrosoft filters.  no categorical system could compete with the speed that I can build graphs in with this system.  That would be great because I really like grapheditplus.
