I have some suggestions for the user interface.

1)Ability to user to decide where the before/after preview processing starts using the timeline slider.It hink this would be faster to implement than realtime preview function.
2)After loading a filter into sequence window,it would be nice to have possibility to view filters parameters directly in additional window rather than having to press "configure" button.Saves time if you forgot what parameters you were using.
3)"Clear all" button which,well..,clears all the filters in the list with one click.

Good ideas.
Currently filters report their main settings in a string which is displayed in parentheses after filter's name. Displaying a filter's config window inside VE's main window would be hard - this window is displayed by the filter and the code behind it thinks in terms of a modal window, in a non-modal window it may cause troubles.
