Hi all,
When I SR a video doubling 352x480 to 704x960 the sound stream is not copied. I am using xvid for video and no compression for the ac3 sound. I was able to de-multiplex the sound from the original video and multiplex it with the new video. I then upres the video from 704x960 to 1408x1920 (expreimenting) and not only do I not get sound, the video will not play from a DVD. Why would the sound stream not copy?

Usually "copy stream" option works fine, but if not, try selecting AC3 as the sound codec (this will cause recompression, unfotunately). If you don't see AC3 there, download and install "AC3 ACM" codec. When writing high resolution video to DVD make sure chosen codecs and bitrate are supported by your DVD player. Doubling the resolution means increasing raw bitrate 4 times. High bitrate video requires very good reading speed from the media it is stored on.

Thanks for the information Dee Mon. I tried the AC3 codec but the sound quality seemed degraded. At least for this video, I wll multiplex the sound and video together.

Same problem here - video (mpeg) SR's just fine but AC3 (5.1) sound does not copy (no recompression: stream copy). There are 3 AC3 audio streams (5.1 448 Kbps, 5.1 640 Kbps and 2 channel) MediaInfo shows ZERO channels after encoding. Interesting - when choosing the AC3 encoder option and hitting the configure button all options (bitrates and frequencies) show ZERO channels. So IMHO it has something to do with the source. My video plays fine in all players using FFDshow video and audio decoders with AC3 spdif to my receiver. Tried WMAudio and got some sound but completely garbled - every 1 second of sound interspersed with 1 second of static. Could it be the multiple audio streams? Small clip: http://rapidshare.com/files/352178758/Segment_0.mpg.html if anyone wants to give it whirl.

Thanks for uploading the file! We'll look into this issue. Yes, there may be some problems with multiple streams, because VE is made with most common and simple case in mind: one video and one audio stream.

I have a problem where the video converts properly, but the audio track seems to be out of sync with the video. I didn't re-encode the audio track from the original file, any ideas what the problem may be?

No, I use version 1.93, all my videos are compressed with Xvid and my laptop has no trouble playing back 1080p video even on the 'power saver" option.

Does the audio progressively gets more and more out of sync or is it the same throughout the video?

Check the source and processed video's frame rate, I had this problem and found that the frame rate was different resulting in a duration different from the source. I got around this problem by converting it to another format like avi (uncompressed or lossless.....i use lagrith lossless codec) before running it through video enhancer.

It's the same throughout the video With regards to framerate, I use Xvid for my encodes, doesn't it keep the framerate from the source video?
