Hi, I think a good deblocking filter is ffdshow postprocessing-fast sppdeblocking filter. Works well when you first encode blocky video with msu smart deblocking, then apply the ffdshow filter. I learned that you can't encode video with ffvdub/ffdshow encoder and use post processing option, just doesn't work. Also, you can't either in virtualdub-directshow driver plugin or video enhancer-with ffdshow decoder being used pass the fast spp deblocking to video being encoded, but you can use mplayer deblocking(part of ffdshow post processing filter) but mplayer isn't good for that. I don't know why that is but that is how it works. I also noticed that you have to sometimes deblock video twice to get rid of blockiness. Sometimes just using ffdshow fast sppdeblocking works the first time. The other times I use video enhancer-msu smart deblocking and then use kmplayer with ffdshow as a decoder turn on postprocessing-fast spp deblocking and capture video with the kmplayer option and that works. I also try using video capture of kmplayer and use its own fast spp deblocking filter. It is a bit complicated though. I wish somebody would compile ffdshow encoder /ffvdub with post processing options fully enabled because they don't work in any version i've tried.

I suppose ffdshow deblocking is available when it's used for decoding, not encoding.

I use it for encoding all the time, it works for me.... I will do a test to verify though.
