Recently we had to change our payments processor from RegNow to Avangate. Now one can buy Video Enhancer by following this link.

Setting up direct payments with PayPal turned out to be harder and longer than I expected.

Ok, thanks. I have purchased and registered Video Enhancer, with no problems  Cool

Let the enhancing begin Grin

Thanks again

Version 2.0 is still far from this moment. We spent last few months entirely on another project (related to our ScreenPressor video codec) and not on Video Enhancer development.

The price for 2.0 will probably be the same as for 1.x. Owners of 1.x will get it either for free or with a major discount (like 50%). This is not decided yet.

Are you now working on video enhancer again ?

That is quite is a good question that I would also like to know....even a Guesstimated date of version 2.0 or even a guesstimated date for when you will continue on from 1.9.6 will be good for me. I'm still waiting on the newer features that has been listed in version 2.0 and some I need so that I can completely stop using Virtualdub which for some reason crashes a lot with certain combinations of filters. Even a mention of something like "we will get to it" will be ok for me....not sure about everyone else lol. For now I'm going back and forth with virtualdub and video enhancer 1.9.6 and its great but would be a whole lot better if I did everything in one application, also what is the Maximum resolution that video enhancer can work with (upscaling/output), I tried 28,000x9,334 and it wouldn't allow it in virtualdub - apparently not enough memory. Can video enhancer handle such high resolutions. Thanks.

Yes, we're planning to release 1.9.7 this month. Not so drastic changes: some UI improvements, better frame rate handling, some bugs fixed. There is a promotion coming on bitsdujour.com at the end of this month, so we'll try our best to make the new version ready for it.

Actually one bug (crashes on very high resolutions) we silently fixed about a month ago but didn't change version number. Those crashes were caused by consuming all available memory while buffering output frames in our AVI writer.

Super large frames like 28,000x9,334 require indeed a lot of memory and Video Enhancer is accustomed to think that there is always enough memory, it does not really try to lower memory consumption. When working with VD filters it differs from VD itself by using separate input/output memory buffers for all filters, this allows running filters in parallel but consumes more memory. VirtualDub (at least earlier versions) tried to reuse memory buffers whenever possible, that lead to lower memory consumption and faster work on single core (data is copied less) but that scheme disallowed parallelization, making all the filters work one after another. So the main problem when working with very large frames is amount of available memory. If you've got enough memory it should work fine. Memory is really cheap now, it's easy to add more GBs.

I guess I'll upgrade to 24 or 48 GB and see what happens. Thanks for the info, I might as well buy 1.9.7 and get 2.0 whenever it comes out.
