Hi,

I see the comparisons on your site are with vreveal 2 and the general consensus is that Video enhancer was a bit better in terms of quality.

However, what is people's opinions of the latest version of vreveal. It seems to have been in the media an awful lot recently and apparently uses the same techniques as used for forensics.

Is this better or worse than video enhancer?

I expect opinions on this board to be biased towards VE, Smiley

Well it does make sense that people might be bias, but I can tell you first hand that I prefer video enhancer over vReveal 3 quality wise. And although they might use vReveal in forensics they mostly use iKeana (also made from Motion DSP) as a better choice then vReveal. I honestly can't tell you the quality difference of video enhancer vs iKeana as iKeana is not available to average consumers and is for law enforcement (it also costs a large wad of cash lol). Again from my experience of both programs video enhancer is the way to go. As a Final statement, this is my opinion and I did not do any actual technical quality test, but to the average joe (if you have both programs) you can somewhat clearly see that video enhancer is better in quality.

We haven't seen vReveal 3 in action yet. As always we prefer doing some measurements and getting some digits like PSNR and SSIM values, that's more objective and less biased. We'll update the comparison with new numbers and images after we test the new version of vReveal.
