Or even processed segments/clips from Vdub, really...

I'm trying to evaluate Video Enhancer, thinking I might want to add it to my tools for video processing, but I've hit a wall.

It seems any clip or full video I've processed first in VDub, gives me the same error.

All videos or clips have been saved in uncompressed AVI format, all of them open and I can play them in VE, but the minute I try to process or preview anything, I get the following error:

"E870 This is not a proper AVI file.  (Can't connect source filter and AVI splitter)

No such interface supported

(8004002)"

I'm a bit perplexed as to what the problem is here, any help would be appreciated.

I remember such issue when ffdshow tried to be a handler for uncompressed video. If you've got it installed (it can be part of a codec pack) open its settings, go to Decoder tab, go to Codecs and ensure "Raw video" is disabled.

Another reason can be Haali media splitter or some other splitter trying to handle AVI files. That should be disabled too. There is a system AVI splitter which is quite fine, custom splitters for AVI usually do only harm.

Looks like it was Haali.  Raw video was already disabled in ffdshow.  Couldn't find an easy way to disable Haali so I uninstalled it for now.  No more error.

Thanks!
