Neat Video still doesn't work, running latest versions VE & Neat(32bit) on Win64 PC.

Searching this forum I came across this post dated November 23, 2010:

It turns out NeatVideo works in VE in Windows XP but doesn't work in Windows 7, at least 64 bit. We'll try to find the reason.

Is this issue being resolved?
There is some irony to this: The one filter that I paid money for is the one that doesn't work, versus all the free filters.

Actually there is a way to run it. Before runnung Video Enhancer go to its folder in Program Files and rename skinengine.dll to some other name. Then run Video Enhancer, Neat Video will work there.
Apparently there is some incompatibility between these two modules and both of them are third-party, so we can't easily fix this. I think in v1.9.7 we'll add automatic skinengine unloading when adding Neat Video. By the way v1.9.7 is coming today!

Are you sure.
I just tried what you suggested. Behavior was a little different to before but still no joy with trying to use Configure.
Instead of getting "Abnormal Program Termination" upon cancelling, now I get a duplicated Neat Video filter added to the Filters sequence. But it does say "recent profile", suggesting the previous processing parameters have been picked up.
Very messy.

You will not be able to access the Neat Video configuration from Video Enhancer because it requires preview and this isn't supported in VE.

You will have to configure Neat Video in VirtualDub, then when you load it in VE it will use the same settings as last set on VirtualDub.

I am running Neat Video (32bit) on Windows 7 64bit and it works with VE.

In fact, I was just running it with Super Resolution upscaling a DVD from 720x576 to 1280x720 then applying Neat Video. It ran for over 15 hours and had 20 minutes left, then the electricity went off....

Got to start all over again....

OK, then assuming that I am not using any other filter than Neat Video, in this context is there any advantage in using Video Enhancer over VD to run just Neat Video?

In this case, I would probably use it in VirtualDub.

When I use Neat with Video Enhancer is when I'm also performing Super Resolution resize before using Neat on the resized image in order to remove noise.
This is because in VE, SR will be able to work in YV12 which is faster than RGB32.

My experience is that I get better result if I use Neat after upscaling the image. But it also takes much longer time than if denoising the small video before resize.
If denoise is performed before resize, the resulting upscaled video tends be not as sharp and also more details are removed than if denosing the upscaled video.

However, when it comes to resize down, it is best to perform denoising on the original unresized video, then resize down after denoising.
